Job Description

Are you a motivated, competent, exceptionally well presented Logistics Sales professional? You understand   what it takes to generate new business, and look forward to that rewarding and satisfying feeling when you close the deal. Then look no further, because this is the job you have been searching for!

Job skills, qualifications and experience required:

  • 3 – 5 years solid experience in the logistics/freight/shipping/cargo/courier industry essential
  • Degree/diploma/Certificate in logistics or similar a definite plus
  • Dangerous cargo course highly advantageous
  • Shipping Course or ICS Foundation Diploma
  • Own car with valid driver’s licence is essential
  • Quotation skills to quote on different INCO terms
  • Computer literate with Liner Suite a definite advantage
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, and particularly Maritime English

Excellent knowledge of the following:

  • freight desk and documentation
  • Knowledge of Clearing and Forwarding
  • Knowledge of container logistics
  • Knowledge of handling, stowage and quoting for Break bulk and unitised cargoes
  • Wide knowledge of Maritime Geography

Key Performance Areas:

  • To maintain a consistently high level of knowledge of the various tasks through personal market research /market intelligence
  • To enhance and improve the company image through excellent service delivery
  • To maintain a high level of accuracy and produce a consistent high level of work and seek more effective ways in achieving this
  • To secure cargo bookings and other revenues, with net profit per month of minimum three times cost to company
  • Daily Telesales - 50 telesales calls per day and report on these telesales calls daily
  • Search for new business daily in conjunction with above telesales.


  • Promote the company and its products by visiting existing clients and prospective clients on a daily basis.
  • Extensive canvassing for new clients
